If you could be anywhere right now, where would it be?
I was cleaning my apartment this morning, and had my xbox playing random music off my server, and in the process, a track by Moby came on. It made me remember being in a place called Kenadia, which was the interior of a friends car, that he had unofficially claimed as his own territory and nationality. I think that if I could be anywhere at any time, I would really like to visit Kenadia again. It was a great time, continually passing under the Brady Street bridge, but never daring to look up and see if anyone was looking down at us.
Its funny how people always say to treasure your youth, because those are the best times of your life, but you never know quite what they mean until those times are gone. The people who understand are the people that it doesn't apply to anymore. To quote Megadeath, hindsight is always 20/20, looking back its still a bit fuzzy. Its the little things in life that become powerfull memories, and this Moby song is one for me. Well, to be honest, the whole album (Play) is a great one, and I listened to it alot in that time frame. Both of my room-mates really enjoyed it, and in all, that was a great time in my life. I remember vividly cooking out and drinkig Ale-house beer by the gallon, burning around 100lbs of Charcoal every summer. I rember when we had Astroturf for the superbowl, and the ensuing Porch Pigeons. I miss the days of spending 13+ hours playing Diablo II, only to realize that at the end of the day we had stopped to eat, but had never bothered to shower or do decent things. It seems like a waste of time, but, in the end, it was incredibly enjoyable. Now I have to worry about work and bills, so those days are gone. I was working then, and going to school, but that never really mattered as much as it does now.
I often wonder what life would be like if I had chosen a different path along the way, but I am glad I made the choices I did. I would not be the person I am today. Now, I just need to figure out the plan for the long term, and realize where I am headed.
